JOYFUL FACES AND TEARS OF HAPPINESS DURING 'NATIONAL PAMPER DAY' WHEN WISHES OF THE ELDERLY COME TRUE.

 

NUENEN - It was a long-cherished wish: a facial treatment in a beauty salon. For 82-year-old Tilly van den Nieuwenhuyzen, this was no longer affordable since her move to a more expensive apartment. On Friday, her wish was fulfilled. Thanks to National Pamper Day, she stepped outside again as radiant as the enthusiastically shining sun after the free treatment. "That they were able to make something beautiful out of such an old lady like me."

 

"It feels great," she says while beautician Iris Verspaget hands her a mask. "I just have to be careful that I don't fall asleep."

 

Diny Maasakkers (74) also got treated in the beauty salon. "I can't remember the last time I was so spoiled."
